ok, weird

I apologize; I’m totally fascinated by this Ashley Todd business. I can’t stop.

The latest development appears to be her claim that she was in some sort of psychogenic fugue state when she scratched the B in her face:

Unfortunately I am unable to speculate as to the veracity of such a claim; the DSM-IV doesn’t say anything one way or the other about sufferers’ tendency to send out Twitters containing pre-fugue exposition.

Hey… great blog.. been reading it for awhile now… but what happened to your mapplet of the DC metro system on Google Maps ??
I loved that map overlay for planning my trips to DC… now it doesn’t seem to come up ?? Could be something on my end…
    Any ideas ??

Well, first, thanks for bringing this to my attention.
Second: rats. I’ve had a look and can reproduce the problem. But I’m at a loss as to what could be causing it. I’ve looked through the relevant documentation, confirmed that the necessary files are in the necessary places, and now posted a message to the appropriate technical forum. I’ll do my best to get this issue resolved as quickly as I can, but at the moment I haven’t got a great idea of what could be happening — even the debugging tools seem to be malfunctioning. My best guess is that a particular GMaps subsystem that I rely upon has been temporarily disabled.
Has this just begun happening to you recently?

Last time I used it was mid-September (I think).
But I tried it again today… and it works!! I guess your message did not fall on deaf ears ??
Thanks for getting it back up!

It seems to be working for me, too. My best guess is that something went wrong with Google Maps’ XML-fetching system. Whatever it was, it seems to be fixed now. Thanks again for bringing it to my attention.
